ADHD Assessments

ADHD Screening & Assessment for Adults (18+)

I offer ADHD screening and assessment services for adults aged 18 and over, both in-person and online.

A formal diagnosis of ADHD requires evidence that symptoms were present before the age of 12. This is typically shown through school reports or by obtaining information from someone who knew you well as a child, usually a parent. If you're considering an assessment, please make sure you can access this information and that your nominated supporters are happy to assist before making a booking.

Step 1: ADHD Screening Appointment
We start with a 50-minute session to explore your symptoms, mental health history, and lifestyle to see whether a full ADHD assessment is appropriate. This appointment can be held in person or online.

  • Cost: This is a paid session and must be settled in advance, regardless of whether we proceed to a full assessment.

Step 2: The Assessment Process
If we decide to move ahead, the process includes:

  1. Pre-assessment preparation:
You'll complete a self-report questionnaire. Two people who know you well, ideally from different parts of your life (e.g., a parent, sibling, partner, friend, teacher, or employer) will also be asked to complete a similar questionnaire. These, along with any relevant school reports, need to be submitted before your assessment date. I may also include screening tools for related issues such as anxiety or depression, depending on your history.

  2. Assessment appointment:
This is a 150-minute session that includes a semi-structured clinical interview and relevant psychometric tools to assess for ADHD.

  3. Feedback and next steps:
Once your results are scored and your report is written (usually within 2–3 weeks), we’ll meet for a 50-minute feedback session to go over the findings, discuss options, and plan next steps—whether that involves medication, therapy, or other supports.

If ADHD symptoms are confirmed, you’ll need to see a psychiatrist to finalise the diagnosis and discuss any medication options. I’m also happy to support you with therapy strategies to manage ADHD if you prefer a non-medication approach.

I was incredibly nervous about my ADHD assessment; I had been struggling with my symptoms my whole life and they were affecting how I thought about myself, my mental health and my university performance. As a master’s student, there was a lot riding on my assessment. Tammy was kind and understanding and really took the time to make sense of my experience. She provided me with a really detailed report, a referral to see a specialist and we continued with therapy to help me with strategies to manage my symptoms. My assessment changed my life.
